At B3 Aerial Solutions LLC, we provide professional drone services for clients who need reliable aerial data, high-quality visuals, and safe field execution.

We are currently building a network of qualified 1099 independent contractor drone pilots who can support project-based assignments in Northeast Ohio.

Opportunity Overview

Position: Independent Drone Pilot Contractor
Engagement Type: 1099 / project-based contractor opportunity
Location: Northeast Ohio
Compensation: Per project, agreed in writing before each assignment
Schedule: Based on project needs, pilot availability, weather, airspace, and client deadlines

As a contract drone pilot, you may be considered for assignments involving:

  • Real estate aerial photography and video

  • Construction progress documentation

  • Roof, property, or asset inspections

  • Mapping, ortho-mosaics, and site documentation

  • Commercial marketing media

  • Land, development, or infrastructure projects

  • Specialty projects based on your equipment and experience

Assignments vary by client need and location. Approved pilots remain free to accept or decline available projects.

What We Look For

We are looking for drone professionals who are:

  • FAA Part 107 certified and current

  • Safety-first in every operation

  • Comfortable planning flights around airspace, weather, site conditions, and client expectations

  • Able to capture clean, professional-quality imagery or data

  • Responsive with communication before, during, and after assignments

  • Able to meet delivery deadlines

  • Professional with clients, property owners, and jobsite contacts

  • Operating with their own business tools, equipment, insurance, and workflow

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, applicants should be able to confirm the following:

  • Active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate

  • Current FAA recurrent training, if applicable

  • Ability to comply with FAA rules, airspace restrictions, Remote ID requirements, and local site restrictions

  • Access to appropriate drone equipment for the services offered

  • Ability to provide proof of drone liability insurance upon request

  • Ability to provide sample work or a portfolio

  • Ability to invoice as an independent contractor

  • Ability to complete contractor onboarding documents if selected

Preferred Qualifications

These are not required for every project, but they help us match pilots to more specialized assignments:

  • Experience with real estate, construction, inspections, mapping, or commercial media

  • Experience with DJI, Autel, Skydio, or enterprise UAS platforms

  • Experience with DroneDeploy, Pix4D, DJI Terra, RealityCapture, or similar mapping tools

  • RTK/PPK workflow experience

  • Thermal imaging experience

  • FPV experience

  • Interior drone experience

  • Video editing or photo editing capability

  • $1M+ drone liability coverage

  • Ability to travel outside your primary service area

  • Fast turnaround capability

How It Works

If your background matches our current needs, we may contact you for a short contractor screening call.

3. Contractor onboarding
Selected pilots may be asked to provide proof of certification, insurance, business information, and complete required contractor documents.

4. Project matching
When projects become available in your area, we may contact you with assignment details, scope, deadline, and project compensation.

5. Accept or decline
You decide whether the project fits your availability, equipment, location, and business schedule.

Contractor Relationship Notice

This is an independent contractor opportunity, not an employment application. Submitting this form does not create an employment relationship, contractor agreement, partnership, guarantee of work, or guarantee of compensation.

Approved pilots are responsible for their own insurance, licenses, taxes, business expenses and regulatory compliance unless otherwise agreed in writing for a specific project.

All assignments are subject to client needs, location, weather, airspace, pilot availability, safety considerations, and written project approval.
